Event description

Description

Come join us at The Bond, Digbeth on May 2nd as we explore the journey of women in the last 100 years.

2018 marks the century since women gained the right to vote within the UK and also the beginning of changing times for women nationwide. Here at BCU School of Media, we are exploring the ways women have achieved, succeeded and maintained strength and unity in challenging and frustrating times as well as looking at the inequalities and discrimination women still face today.

With a whole wide range of media products on show such as: mini-films, photography, printed media and much more. We aim to provoke thought, pride and change.

Women have come so far over the last 100 years but we still have a long way to go to achieve equality.

Light refreshments will also be available as well as chance to communicate with School of Media students.

Herstory - A Journey of Women told through the media.

Topics will include:

  • Women in power

  • Women in politics
