Event description

Description

A short(ish!) walk which follows the College Burn upstream from Kirknewton to the lovely Waterfall at Hethpool Linn.

From here we cross the burn and join St Cuthbert’s Way which we follow for just over a mile before diverting to the top of historic St Gregory’s Hill. Here about the history of the hillfort people in this area before descending the hill back into Kirknewton.

Please dress for changeable weather, wear walking boots or shoes and bring drinks and snacks. If you have not already booked online, please pay on arrival.

Lace up your boots and enjoy a great time outside.

• Duration: 3 hrs
• Distance: 4.5 miles
• Category: Easy
• Starting point (please meet here approx 10 minutes before the start time): Kirknewton Village Hall
• OS Grid Ref: NT 914 303
• Postcode:
NE71 6XG

For those wishing to use GPS/Sat-Nav to find walk start points please note that, particularly in open-country, postcodes cover a large area, so, whilst the postcode will get you to the right general area, you will still need to follow the detailed directions to locate the actual Walk Start Point.
