Description

Day Trip to Hever Castle and Gardens, Kent on Saturday 28th July 9.30am-5pm, tickets £13 which includes entry to the Castle and Gardens and watch the Jousting.

Free transport is provided to and from Hever Castle, pick up from Medway Campus.

The trip is open to all Students studying at the Medway Campus.

Join us for a trip to Hever Castle, near Edenbridge in Kent for a fun day out with your fellow students. Hever Castle is steeped in 700 years of history, the beautiful double-moated 13th century castle was once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII and Mother of Elizabeth. It is immersed in beautiful gardens which feature a Water Maze and the 100 year old Yew Maze. There’s a fascinating collection of miniature model houses and a beautiful lake that you can take boat rides on or a leisurely walk around. You can even try your hand at archery, paint a shield or watch a jousting event, which is taking place on the day of the trip.

The ticket price include entrance to the castle and gardens but there are other attractions and activities available at the Castle which cost extra, including archery and boat hire on the lake. Please note, payment must be taken in advance of the trip in order to secure your place. The entry fee is £13 which includes entrance to grounds and castle and transport. Payment can be taken at World Cafe on Wednesday 12-2pm in the Blake Student Centre. If you have any queries please contact Lynne Martin (medwaycampuschaplain@gre.ac.uk)

The coach will be picking up the group promptly at 9.30am from the bus stop near the Gillingham building, please make sure you are there on time and bring your student ID with you.
