About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 15 minutes

Details of session

We will be making a practical storage box from scrap cardboard, cloth and fancy paper. Some aspects are fiddly but not impossible. You will need a fairly large area to work on during the first stage of making the box.

Materials supplied by us

Templates for the cardboard

Materials you need to supply - all standard crafters stash stuff 😊

Cardboard you will need to cut 6 pieces 4 x 20 cm and 2 hexagons which are 8 cm wide. If you have it grey board is really strong.

Paper or cloth to cover twice the area of the card, or you can paint or decopatch with different mediums

Kraft tape – this is stronger than masking tape and gives stability to the box. (brown paper tape) you can also use the brown paper bags we send as tape – you would need a couple of layers.

Glue – if you are covering with paper or cloth.

How it works:

We will detail any preparation work you need to do for the crafts, a reminder e mail is sent 2 days before and again 2 hours before the session the session starts. The zoom link can be found by selecting your ticket on the app or online. If you have booked a kit (UK only) this will be posted around the 25th of the month before the session.

For those booking outside the UK you need to check for time differences.

If we don’t hold your address we need you to send it to info@reconnecting.org.uk before the cut off
date for us to make kits. The cut off date is the 15th of the month before the
session starts. No address = no kit.

Manylion y sesiwn

Byddwn yn gwneud blwch storio ymarferol o gardbord sgrap, brethyn a phapur ffansi. Mae rhai agweddau yn ffiaidd ond nid yn amhosibl. Bydd angen ardal eithaf mawr arnoch i weithio arno yn ystod y cam cyntaf o wneud y blwch.

Deunyddiau a gyflenwir gennym ni

Templedi ar gyfer y cardfwrdd

Deunyddiau y mae angen i chi eu cyflenwi - mae pob crefftwr safonol yn stash stwff

Bydd angen i chi dorri 6 darn 4 x 20 cm a 2 hecsagon sy'n 8 cm o led. Os oes gennych fwrdd llwyd yn gryf iawn.

Papur neu frethyn i gwmpasu dwywaith arwynebedd y cerdyn, neu gallwch baentio neu addurno gyda gwahanol gyfryngau

tâp Kraft – mae hyn yn gryfach na thâp masgio ac yn rhoi sefydlogrwydd i'r blwch. (tâp papur brown) Gallwch hefyd ddefnyddio'r bagiau papur brown rydyn ni'n eu hanfon fel tâp – byddai angen cwpl o haenau arnoch chi.

Glud – os ydych chi'n gorchuddio â phapur neu frethyn.

Eich cyfrifoldeb chi yw sicrhau y gallwch dderbyn negeseuon gan Eventbrite, mae gennym ganllawiau i ddefnyddio'r ap os oes eu hangen arnoch.

Organised by

ReConnecting is a project run wholly by volunteers . We undertake activities to try to help people stay connected to the world, their families and hobbies, learn new skills, make friends and just have a small space of time that is for them. We have a few rules, turn up at sessions where we have provided a kit to you, (no need to have your video or microphone on), send us a picture of your finished work for our gallery.

We know that joining in can be scary and make you feel anxious, most people who come to our sessions initially feel the same way, give it a try.
