H&F Roundtable: Coercive and Controlling Behaviour & Criminal Justice
An overwhelming number of victim/survivors of Domestic Abuse (DA) report expericing coercive and controlling behaviour (CCB). Despite being made a criminal offence, CCB is difficult to evidence, charge, and prosecute.
This in-person roundtable will bring together criminal justice experts, practitioners, and individuals interested in exploring this critical topic.
The event is organised by Hammersmith & Fulham Council and the Impact Project partners as part of the 16 Days of Activism to end Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). The Impact Project is a local partnership of agencies working in a coordinated community response to improve criminal justice outcomes for victim/survivors of DA in H&F.
Our Impact Project partners will delve into the limitations and challenges associated with CCB, share best practice, and invite questions and opportunities for learning and collaboration.
You will hear from:
- Tanya Allen, Programme Manager for Courts and Criminal Justice | Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse (STADA)
- Mike Mallon, District Crown Prosecutor | Crown Prosecution Service (CPS)
- Matt Hogg, Detective Chief Inspector | Metropolitan Police Service (MPS)
- H&F's Criminal Justice Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) | Advance
The event is open to professionals working in the ending VAWG sector, Criminal Justice System, and other professionals supporting victim/survivors of DA in H&F.
Refreshments and light dinner provided.
