The focus of Homes for Scotland over the last year has very much been on securing "Foundations for the Future". But, with 2014 essentially a "game of two halves", it is clear that the industry still faces a number of tough challenges.
Now well into the new year and as we enter a crucial period in the run up to both the UK general election in May and Scottish Parliamentary elections in 2016, HFS will be campaigning vigorously to highlight the huge threat to Scotland’s social and economic well-being posed by the country’s housing crisis. Currently developing our manifesto, the need to ensure we have enough homes in the right locations to meet Scotland’s diverse housing needs will underpin our policy calls.
It is against this backdrop that we are again undertaking a series of “regional roadshows” in order to personally brief members on current and future priorities, outline our manifesto calls, as well as directly receive your feedback to ensure Homes for Scotland continues to effectively meet your needs. We will be joined at these sessions by our new Chair-elect, former politician and Scottish Government Minister Jim Mather.
These sessions will also allow us to brief non-members on the role of Homes for Scotland and what we do, whilst also enabling networking with other industry representatives and providing the opportunity to question our Executive Team about how your own business could maximise the benefits of membership.
Suitable for senior management level, this free session will take place on Friday 20 March, 2pm-4pm at Campbell Dallas, Titanium 1, King's Inch Place, Renfrew, PA4 8WF.
