Event description

Description

Come and visit the University of Kent's Special Collections & Archives department, held in the Templeman Library.

Special Collections & Archives looks after the University's historic collections and makes them accessible for you to use in your research. Holdings include:

- The internationally renowned British Cartoon Archive and British Stand-Up Comedy Archive

- Over 200 rare books from the 15th - 18th centuries

- Victorian and Edwardian theatre material, including playbills, playscripts, pantomime and music hall scripts and props

- The Buffs (East Kent Regiment) collection

...and much more!

In this (definitely not Christmas-themed) visit you'll learn more about the materials held within Special Collections & Archives and how to use them in your studies here. You'll be introduced to staff and will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about accessing archives elsewhere. We'll also have items out that you can use for your forthcoming material culture assignment, so get ahead of the game by visiting us!

Please note: these visits require a minimum number of students (5) in order for the session to run.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Email specialcollections@kent.ac.uk, or drop into our Reading Room during opening hours.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Nope - our archives may be full of paper but we are tree-saving friendly.
