Event description

Description

Part of the Being Human Festival 2019.

Discover the hidden corners and secret stories of Attenborough Nature Reserve on the banks of the River Trent.

Join us at one of the East Midlands’ most popular and best loved nature reserves as we explore what makes this unique wildlife site so popular and consider why it means so much to so many people.

Throughout the day we will have a series of walks and talks that will shed new light on the site’s history, wildlife and management, as well as exhibits including archaeological treasures uncovered during almost a century of sand and gravel extraction.

This unique event will celebrate the site’s wildlife and provide an insight into how the reserve was shaped and the people who shaped it.

This event is part of the Being Human festival, led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts & Humanities Research Council and the British Academy. For further information please see beinghumanfestival.org
