How much do you know about hidden disabilities, such as neuro diversity, mental health and conditions such as brain injury? What about the Equality Act, reasonable adjustments and how to access support?

In this seminar we will explore:

  • The wider scope of hidden disabilities
  • What are the talents and work challenges for those with such conditions
  • Accessing Work Support
  • What organisations can do
  • What individuals can do for themselves
  • The legal implications of hidden disabilities
  • The relevant parts of the Equality Act

There’ll be a few case studies to explore and plenty of opportunity for discussion and Q&A

Our Speakers

Cheryl Winter: Cheryl is a highly experienced coach with a specialism for neurodiversity (Dyslexia, ADHD Autism). She has worked in the field of neurodiversity since 2011 and recently completed a 4-year role as Director of a Social Enterprise specialising in neurodiversity in the workplace.

Cheryl works with employees in the workplace creating sustainable and life changing strategies which allow their inner talents to emerge.

She also works with parents and children to understand they are beautifully different – not difficult!

This is a free event for both CIPD and non-CIPD Members. Not in HR or L&D? Business Owners/Leaders/Managers are also very welcome to attend our events.

Booked a place and can't attend

This event is free to attends, however we do reserve the right to charge a £10 no-show fee for those who are unable to attend who do not contact us with apologies (except in exceptional circumstances).

All our branch events are organised by volunteers who give up their time freely to provide CPD opportunities for others in North Yorkshire, events are funded through branch funds, and our speakers (who at most receive expenses only) give up their time freely to prepare and present their sessions. With this in mind, if you do book on an event and find you’re no longer able to attend – please email and give your apologies to those involved with the event – we really do appreciate this, especially in advance where possible as this might allow us to avoid catering wastage, but if it’s an unavoidable last minute cancellation we’d still like to hear from you.
