About this event

Health • Other

Join us for a unique creative wellness workshop blending mindful movement and zine-making. Through guided somatic prompts, partner play, and hands-on art, we’ll explore the themes of hiddenness, unfolding, and revelation—both on the page and in the body.

This is an invitation to slow down, tune in, and express yourself in ways beyond words.

What to Expect

Move + Ground

We’ll begin with mindful movement—grounding, breathing, and exploring the metaphors of folding and unfolding in the body. Gentle guidance and space to move intuitively at your own pace.

Mirror + Play

In pairs, we’ll experiment with the dialogue between paper and body: A playful exercise in listening, sensing, and co-creating.

Create + Reveal

You’ll then dive into zine-making with creative prompts on the table. Think of collage, folds, hidden flaps, and layered pages—each one holding what you wish to reveal or keep tucked away.

Move with Your Zine

To close, we’ll bring body and art back together. Share your zine not through words, but through a short freestyle movement—letting paper and body speak as one. We’ll finish with joyous collective dance to release and celebrate.

Who Is This For?

This is a beginner-friendly, inclusive space for anyone curious about creative expression, mindful movement, or zine-making. No dance or art experience is required—just bring your curiosity and openness.

What You'll Receive

  • Your own handmade zine, filled with personal reflections and layered imagery
  • A Move to Thrive card (movement prompts to take home!)
  • Connection, creativity, and a moment to just be you

Emma , Artist & Founder of Gazette Girlie

@gazette.girlie

Hi, I’m Emma, an artist who specializes in zine-making and the founder of Gazette Girlie and the community zine Gazette for the Girls. Since going to my first zine-making workshop in 2024, I fell in love with the process of zine making. I was instantly drawn to the therapeutic act of working with physical materials and getting into a creative flow.

Since then I have made it my mission to spread the word of zines and encourage everyone to at least try zine making once, as it can have such a positive impact on mental wellbeing and allowing play through crafts back into our lives.

I have hosted workshops at The Vagina Museum, for charities such as OneRoofUK and worked with Saint Margarets House curating a zine workshop focusing on mental wellbeing and manifesto making. I have a very relaxed approach to zine making and believe there is no wrong or right way to make a zine and to get lost in the fun of making rather than perfectionism and focusing too much on the end results.

Aditi Kaushiva – Movement Facilitator & Founder of Move to Thrive

Hi, I’m Aditi, a movement artist and founder of Move to Thrive, a wellness practice rooted in movement, mindfulness, and nervous system care. After 15+ years in dance, a high-pressure career in banking, and building an 8-figure e-commerce business, I hit burnout hard. That’s when I returned to movement, not as performance, but as medicine.

Now, I guide others to reconnect with their bodies, release stress, and rediscover joy through mindful, expressive movement, breathwork, and community connection. My approach blends Indian philosophy with playful embodiment and emotional healing.

In the past year, I’ve led workshops for Google Cloud, Creative Mornings, Wellnergy Festival, and in community spaces like LGBTQ+ Community Centre, The Bridge, and St. Margaret’s House, always with one goal: to create safe, inclusive spaces where we can move, feel, and thrive together.

Let’s move through what weighs you down—and dance into your aliveness.
