Description

December fun thanks to the National Lottery!
#ThanksToYou

As part of the National Lottery Fund #ThanksToYou campaign, we're hosting a series of free exhibition tours of the Hidden Histories, Hidden Historians exhibition at Archives+ in Manchester Central Library on Wednesday 13 December 2017.

Tours will last roughly 30 minutes and be conducted by Heather Roberts (Her Archivist) and Charlie Booth (Community Engagement Manager) beginning at 12:00 and 13:00 meeting in the entrance foyer to Manchester Central Library. Tea and Coffee will also be available to attendees to the exhibition tour.

Hidden Histories, Hidden Historians is a multi-media exhibition by five community groups from across Greater Manchester who have explored their own hidden histories; taking them on a journey to becoming historians.

The National Lottery Fund Thank You campaign will see 350 National Lottery funded visitor attractions in the UK opening their doors and offering free entry to people who have reaised money for good causes by buying a lottery ticket.

Thanks to support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Manchester Histories has worked with the Oldham Youth Council, Manchester People First, M13 Youth Project, The Inspire Centre, and FC United with Sporting Memories over a number of months as part of the Hidden Histories, Hidden Historians project. The groups have been delving in to their own histories and archives; selecting photographs, recording oral history interviews and filming documentary videos to form the exhibition.

Hidden Histories, Hidden Historians is open to the public from 11th November 2017 until 31st January 2018.
