Unearth and connect to our mining heritage through the SEAM EXHIBITION's series of creative writing workshops that will spark your imagination...

Workshop 2 - Hidden People explores the not so well known members of the Mining Institute as well as the men and children who worked in the 19th Century mines. This workshop is a free workshop for adults only.

These workshops will accumulate in a celebratory open reading event and creative writing submitted, will be added to our archives.

Workshops will be run by professional writer Amanda Quinn.


Amanda Quinn is a writer and tutor based in the north east of England. Her writing has been published by National Flash Fiction Day, Papaya Press, Ellipsis Zine, Butcher's Dog, Spelk, and After the Pause among others. She teaches creative writing and storytelling for the Workers’ Educational Association and other community/arts organisations. You can find her on Twitter @amandaqwriter.
