With Buckingham Palace on one side and Downing Street on the other, this guided tour of St. James’s Park will put you at the heart of many momentous events in British history.


  • The first part of the walk focuses on the park’s royal history, revealing how it helped court a king’s mistress, the exotic royal pets it’s been home to and its dark underbelly.
  • After you've taken in the park's incredible heritage, you will end your walk with the resident pelicans’ daily feeding.

  • Designed for adult attendees, over 18 years of age.
  • Please note you are unable to bring dogs onto Duck Island as it is a nature reserve for St. James's Park bird collection.

These events are designed for adult attendees, over 18 years of age.

How long is the walk?

This is a gentle walk approximately 1.5miles/2.4km long. At times we may venture off paved pathways. If you have any accessibility requirements, please notify us in advance so that we can ensure we give you the best possible experience.

What should I wear?

Please keep the weather in mind. We recommend in winter, something warm and waterproof including footwear; in summer, sun protection, water and walking footwear.

Can I bring a dog?

Please note you are unable to bring dogs onto Duck Island as it is a nature reserve for St. James's Park bird collection.

Do I need to print my confirmation?

There is no need to print this confirmation. Simply give the surname of the booker to the event leader upon arrival.
