HIDE TO HEARTBEAT - Drum Birthing Day
Overview
Hide to Heartbeat: Drum Birthing day
A One-Day Journey | Studio 6, Leeds
Join me for a day of ceremony, creativity, and connection as you birth your own medicine drum — a sacred instrument woven from goat hide and an ash hoop.
The goat carries the spirit of vitality, movement, and joyful resilience — a bridge between the earthly and the ethereal, bringing lightness, freedom, and play to your rhythm. The ash tree holds the energy of wisdom and protection, rooted in the Earth yet reaching for the heavens. Together they weave the union of Earth and Sky, a balance of grounded strength and flowing spirit that echoes through every beat of your drum.
We’ll begin our day by opening sacred space and blessing the hide and hoop, honouring the beings and elements that offer themselves in this act of creation. Through cacao ceremony and intention setting, you’ll soften into the heart and open to the rhythm that calls your drum into being.
With your own hands, you will weave the threads of spirit into form, knot by knot, prayer by prayer, as your drum takes shape. Guided by a shamanic journey, you’ll be invited to meet the Spirit of your Drum — to listen for its voice, name, and medicine.
We’ll close our day in a sound blessing circle, awakening the new drums and sending their heartbeats out into the world — a reminder of your own inner rhythm and creative power.
