Improved trees & better recovery

Over the coming months there will be a series of three HIFIC events focussing on current research, challenges and issues associated with the production of timber. Topics covered in the series will include:

Species & provenance choice.

Nurseries – what plants are available and how are they produced?

Life after chemicals.

Harvesting techniques.

Ground preparation.

Markets – are we making the most of what we grow?

Alternative markets, recreation & tourism, forest carbon.

The best recovery - brash harvesting. Charlie Paterson, CSP Harvesting

Steve Conolly, Cawdor Forestry Ltd will give the manager’s and owner’s perspective on brash recovery.


Lecture Theatre, Inverness College UHI

5.00pm - Registration, tea & coffee.

5.30pm - Meeting commences

7.00pm - Dinner & networking.

Parking is available at Inverness College UHI, or in the visitors car park at the entrance to Inverness Campus.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Preferably, but not essential. Registration will be completed upon arrival.
