High Peak Community Voice is a membership-led forum open to all voluntary and community groups in the High Peak.

About this event

Are you are a Community or Voluntary group working within/across the High Peak?

Join us on the 10th May 2022 at 10am for our first High Peak Community Voice forum

High Peak CVS is a membership organisation that offers a variety of support to local community and voluntary groups. As part of our CORE values, we represent the voluntary and community sector in key meetings and forums with our statutory partners.

In order to ensure we are the true voice of the community we have set up High Peak Community Voice – a forum which will be membership-led and open to all voluntary and community groups in the High Peak. It will provide a space for these groups to meet and exchange information, share ideas, good practice and innovation.

The Forum will work to strengthen the sector within the district and to develop a confident and articulate voluntary sector body, within a climate of equal partnership with statutory agencies and to celebrate the energy within the sector.

Aims

To bring together people from voluntary and community groups in the district to share skills, information, experiences, good practice, and resources, and to work collectively on issues of common and minority interest as identified by the members of the Forum.

To campaign, promote, and develop new ways of communicating and working with public and private sector agencies, which ensures the collective views of the voluntary and community sector are considered, and also to influence and contribute to the planning and decision making process.

Objectives

  • To enable the sharing of experiences, good practice, skills and resources and to provide a platform for groups to raise issues and gain mutual support and confidence.
  • To build the capacity of the voluntary and community sector to work together on common and minority issues, to learn from each other, and to work to ensure that the necessary policies and resources are developed to facilitate the sectors ability to engage and to participate.
  • To develop collective views and promote the interests of the voluntary and community sector across the High Peak.
  • To provide, disseminate and share information in accessible forms.
  • To support and develop networks within the voluntary and community sector.
  • To ensure that the strengths, needs, and potential of the sector are made known to public, private, and other voluntary agencies.
  • To work in partnership with the public and private sectors, promoting good relationships across the sectors.
  • To provide representation and active participation on relevant strategic partnerships and any supporting action groups.

Membership

  1. Open to any voluntary and community groups working in / across the High Peak, from the small support groups to the larger voluntary or not-for-profit organisations (regardless of charitable status).
  2. Every group can have at least one representative and one vote but additional members can attend if they wish.

If you are unable to make the meeting on the 10th May but would still like to be part of the forum please get in touch with us on hello@highpeakcvs.org.uk.

If you have any questions or need some help booking your place please get in touch on hello@highpeakcvs.org.uk.
