 Description:  Breakfast meeting with short talks, discussion and networking.

Join us at the historic King’s  Manor in York City Centre to find out  about new opportunities for extracting high-value products from crop residues and crop processing waste. With the help of a panel of  experts from academia, industry and farming, we will be sharing the latest developments and success stories and discussing the barriers to commercialisation.  


We will be exploring the issues over breakfast and tea, coffee and breakfast rolls will  be  served


  • Max Cardenas-Fernandez, University College London: Expert on high-value chemicals from sugar beet 
  • Richard Pearson, National Farmers’ Union: Regional Director, North East
  • Joe Ross, Director of the Biorenewables Development Centre and Director of BioVale 
  • Thierry Talou, INP, ENSIATEC: Expert on high value chemicals from vegetable waste


What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

King's Manor is in the city centre and only a 10 minute walk from the RRB11 venue at the Park Inn. For those travelling to the event from outside York, King's Manor  venue is easily accessible by public transport. The train station is approximately 15 minutes away on foot. The Rawcliffe Bar park and ride bus service and the number 13/13a bus go directly past the venue. Other bus routes are easily reachable on foot. See here for the full York bus route map:

There is no public parking at the King's Manor site but nearby car parks can be found on Marygate, Bootham Row and Tanner Row-more information here:


Will the meeting finish in time for RRB11 delegates to make it to morning registration?

A member of staff will ensure that RRB11 delegates leave the venue in time for morning registration at RRB11 and will accompany them to the Park Inn.

Do I have to be a RRB11 delegate to attend?

No, the event is open to all

Is there a fee for attending?

No, registration is free of charge.
