A national preparation course for the Academic Foundation Programme. Guest Speaker - Professor Jeremy Levy (Director of Clinical Academic Training, Imperial College London).
Mock interview places will be allocated on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS.
Aim: to provide prospective candidates with non-generic, high yield guidance with focus on the individual application components - advice on white space questions, interviews and sessions on critical appraisal, emergencies, portfolios and CV building.
What's unique about this course?
The unique aspect of this course will be the focus on helping you develop strategies/frameworks for articulating your approach to common clinical scenarios as well as on how to provide succinct summaries on academic papers - the 'high yield' that will score points! We will also go through how to maximise your score in the white-space section and have mock interviews and Q&A sessions providing ample opportunities for you to seek advice from the current academic clinicians. Through an experience-based approach, we'll provide great insight into the entire AFP process.
Who will deliver the teaching?
The teaching will be delivered by successful AFP candidates from around the UK who enjoy teaching and have a track record of excellence, prizes and publications in high impact journals including the Lancet.
