On Thursday 25 January the Southern Universities Network will be hosting a Higher Education (HE) Information Evening for Parents and Carers. The event will be hosted at Lytchett Minster School.

During this event the parents/carers of students from local schools will have the opportunity to:

 

- Visit an exhibition of local universities, showcasing courses, facilities, accommodation and more

- Attend talks offering information the benefits of, and different pathways to, Higher Education, how to choose a course, the application process as well as details about student finance and other support available

- Find out information about Apprenticeship pathways

- Learn about graduate employment and earning possibilities by sector

- Speak to current university students about their experiences

Southern Universities Network

The Southern Universities Network (SUN) comprises a number of higher education providers, further education colleges, schools, and other organisations in Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. It is part of the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) initiative. The new HEFCE-funded project aims to increase the number of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in Higher Education by 2020.
