Description

Ebor Academy Trust is working with HLTA North of England to provide HLTA Training for both primary and secondary colleagues who are ready for the next step in their professional career. The training will be carried out in York.

The training will consist of:

• A twilight introduction (Wednesday 28 June), two full days (27 September and 15 November) and a further twilight session (6 December) at Robert Wilkinson Primary Academy, Strensall, York.

• Eight short pieces of writing about a range of activities that they are involved in, including lessons with an individual pupil, a small group and a whole class.

• A portfolio of documentary evidence showing examples of how they meet each of the standards.

The Assessment

There will be a half day visit to the candidate’s school by an HLTA assessor. During this visit, the assessor speaks to the candidate, to colleagues and to the head teacher (or another member ofthe leadership team) as well as looking at the portfolio of evidence.

Accreditation

HLTA status is accredited by the HTLA National Assessment Partnership. This body awards nationally recognised HLTA status. This course is accredited via ‘HLTA North of England’. Further details can be found on the Partnership website at www.hlta.org.uk

Entry Requirements

Candidates must have a Level 2 qualification in both English and Maths. Examples of Level 2 qualifications that are acceptable include: GCSE Grades A*-C; Adult Literacy or Numeracy. We will need to see original certificates for both qualifications (if these certificates are in your maiden name and you are applying in your married name we will need document proof).

Head Teacher Support

Head teachers will be asked to confirm that candidates are already working at the level of the HLTA standards. The standards can be found on the HLTA National Assessment Partnership website at www.hlta.org.uk

Course Fees

The cost of this course is £825. The fees include the costs ofthe HLTA North of England assessor’s half day visit to the HLTA’s school.
