November Beach Dune + Salt Marsh Hike with Yuglet Wool Pioneers

Join us for a coastal walk from the historical and enchanting town of Royal Dornoch to Dornoch Beach Point. This is a circular route with no formal paths, pristine beaches undulating dune wilderness with natural beauty and wide open spaces. You are sure to experience a focus on the senses, salty, windy, warm or cold air in an ever changing landscape, with stunning views out across Dornoch Firth and mountains beyond. Return via the Airfield and Little-town to Yuglet Studio for warm drinks and the inspiration behind Yuglet Wool Pioneers + The Woolly Hat Loosers Club. Arrival: The Square Dornoch is central and easy to find. The image shows the bus stop and public toilets are behind the bus stop. Use this as the starting point-Yuglet Wool Pioneers are directly opposite on the corner. Images below show Dornoch Beach Point the half way point of the coastal walk.

Several images showing low tide at Dornoch Beach Point. Numerous shells gather together in areas. Big open spaces for miles around and numerous sea birds and the sound of seals can often be heard. Look up to see beautiful ever changing cloud formations above and smell the salty sea breeze as we walk round the point.

A large range of dunes between the beach and salt marsh, our route will begin by walking along side on the beach side, until they cease at the point. We will then skirt behind these dunes and walk along the edge of the salt marsh.
