About this event
Four webinar Metals sessions for high school level knowledge. These sessions are available for £12 each leading to a certificate of achievement in Metal Chemistry. The webinars use a coaching style with 2 hours of homework per week, which can help you with practical rust problems as well as with science in school exams. Thus these sessions are for any age 11 and up.
Participants must register and pay ahead. Exceptionally, those in India and other non-UK locations need not pay. Just pay £12 for 1 session, or £48 for 4 sessions. Email support is also free for those registered.
Themes 1 Metals and atomic structure, vinegar can cause rust. 2 Metallic surfaces, stainless steel, appearances, and experiments. 3 Microscopic impurities: molecules, compounds, mixtures. 4 Experimental mindset, ionic solutions, managing metal tools for longterm use. What is grease?
Photo: rust is impeded by the copper wire, but hydrogen bubbles can be seen.
This series will be written up so participants can receive the PDF afterward.
To prepare, you could register at BBC Bitesize and use their quizzes to test which level you are at in Chemistry: Key stage 2 is primary school, key stage 3 is early secondary, GCSE is high school, and our webinar is aimed at the high school level.
After our series, you can retest yourself, then your certificate can be personalised to show your level.
