Leith Hill Challenge Hike – 23km for The Guardians Orphan Villiage

Embark on a rewarding and scenic adventure through the Surrey Hills, as we take on the Leith Hill Challenge Hike — a 23km circular route with an elevation gain of 480m.

This hike is ideal for those looking to push themselves physically while enjoying the natural beauty of ancient woodlands, open heath, and panoramic hilltop views. The route includes steady climbs, forest trails, and open countryside, making it a perfect challenge for those with moderate hiking experience or a good fitness level.

Every step taken will support The Guardians Orphan Village, helping raise vital funds for vulnerable children. Gather your friends, lace up your boots, and hike with purpose.

What to Bring:

  • Comfortable walking boots or trail shoes (broken-in)
  • Weather-appropriate clothing (layers recommended)
  • Waterproof jacket in case of rain
  • Backpack with water (at least 1.5L) and snacks/lunch
  • Charged mobile phone
  • Personal medication (if required)
  • Optional: Walking poles, sunscreen, and a small prayer mat

Is there a car park?

You must pay to park here (members park free). You need to validate your parking at a machine or on the JustPark app. There is no phone signal, so download and set up the app before your visit. £2 up to 1 hour. £4 up to 2 hours. £6 up to 4 hours. £9 all day.

What happens after I register?

Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email. You will also be added to a WhatsApp group, where we’ll share important updates, hike details, fundraising tips, and final instructions closer to the day.

Is this hike child-friendly?

⚠️ This 13km hike includes steep climbs and uneven terrain, and is not suitable for children or buggies. STRICTLY ADULTS ONLY

Is the fundraising compulsory?

Yes, this is a fundraising hike. All participants are asked to set up a JustGiving page and raise what they can to support orphans via The Guardians Orphan Village. There will be a minimum target set for all participants.

How do I fundraise?

After registering, we’ll guide you to set up your own JustGiving page linked to the campaign. Share it with family and friends to raise vital funds!

Will there be refreshments available?

Yes, water and refreshments will be provided.
