Hiking Leith Hill Tower and the enchanting woodlands of the Surrey Hills
Join us for a captivating autumn hike through the splendid countryside of South-East England. This trail combines seasonal beauty, historic landmarks, and sweeping views — making it the perfect day out for nature lovers and social walkers. Our journey begins at Holmwood Station, leading us through meadows and into the enchanting Mosses Wood. A gentle ascent takes us to Cockshot Farm, before we climb towards the highlight of the day — Leith Hill Tower, the highest point in South-East England at 313m (1,029ft). From the top, enjoy panoramic views stretching south to the English Channel and north to the skyline of London. Descending from the tower, we’ll follow woodland trails lined with autumn colours and bright green mosses. Passing Snakes Hill and Simmons Copse, the path gently leads us towards Old Bury on the edge of Dorking. We finish by weaving through this historic market town, where we can stop at a cosy pub for a well-earned drink before making our way home.
