Hill West 10K
Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM (BST)
Now in its 23rd Year this AMAZING VALUE charity event is set in the fantastic parkland surroundings of Sutton Park. This event has a very friendly atmosphere but also attracts good competitive runners (over 250 entrants in previous years) for what is renowned as a ‘good and challenging course’. The event is well organised and run by volunteers form the local school PTFA and the Sutton Coldfield Adventure Unit (SCAU)....... and its completely traffic free!
The start / finish is located at the ‘Jamboree Stone’ in the heart of the park and the course is a loop/circuit route which takes in about half of this historic and scenic park. The course is a mix of tarmac roads/paths and ‘off road’ park trails/paths. The first 5k is mostly run ‘off road’ with some ‘challenging’ hills with and the last 5k is almost all on undulating tarmac.
The event is clearly signed and well marshalled throughout with brilliant encouragement for runners. There are two water stations on the course (4km & 8km) and free water is available at the finish. The event is ideal for runners of all abilities and is well supported by local club athletes and enthusiastic non club runners. The 2016 winning times were MALE – Jonathan Carter: 35:38 & FEMALE – Pasale Holden: 43:31.
Ample parking is available at the venue with toilet facilities and a supervised bag drop area (free of charge) also provided.
A 4k ‘Fun Run’ event is also run alongside this event for local school children, adults…..pushchairs…and pets (on a lead!)
• Onsite Parking
