Event description
Carolyn Leary from CRESST, a Sheffield-based charity, will come to talk to us about handling conflict well.

About this Event

Conflicts are part of life, but we can sometimes find the same disagreements at home recurring and wishing there was an easier way forward. This talk, followed by Q&A, will focus on:

• Reflecting on what your core parenting values are

• Being prepared by noticing what you find most difficult and thinking about what’s important

• How ‘blame language’ can escalate conflicts

• Helping young people navigate relationships with friends and family.

Carolyn Leary is Programme Director for CRESST, a Sheffield-based charity training children and young people in conflict resolution skills. Previously, she was a senior manager in children’s services in the Local Authority, a non-executive Director for the NHS and has worked as a trainer for the National College of School Leadership. She has been Chair of Governors at a large diverse comprehensive secondary school and has run Community Justice Panels. She holds a Masters degree in Restorative Justice.
