Get your talc at the ready - Hip City returns to The Art Bank for a night of irresistible northern soul, Motown and classic floor-fillers. For this special edition we welcome Mr Billy Shannon - a bona fide legend of the scene.

Growing up in Manchester, Billy first walked into the iconic Twisted Wheel in 1964 (often hailed as the birthplace of northern soul). After a who’s-who tour of the 70s clubs (including Wigan Casino), he ran music distributor Timewarp, founded the Baseline label, and today deals rare records from an enviable collection — and still DJs. Expect a stonking set of classic northern soul 45s spun by a man who’s lived it from the start.

Come early, stay late, and let the beat do the talking.

🚗 Parking: Two free car parks (Regal Road and Old Ostry) are very close to The Art Bank (free after 6pm). Additional limited parking is available along the high street, plus free parking (up to 3 hours) in Aldi and Tesco car parks, both just a few minutes' walk from the venue (please check terms before leaving vehicles).
