This training aims to explore the key highlights from the National Audit on Group-based Harm, child sexual exploitation and abuse (Casey Report). Delegates attending this webinar will be supported to understand the difference between sexual abuse, sexual exploitation and group-based harm, alongside gaining understanding around the cross over between these harms and indicators to be aware of when working with children and families.

The training will offer insight into the recommended changes for intervention and practice as indicated by the national audit to support working in strength based and trauma informed ways to achieve best outcomes for victims and ensure appropriate support is offered.

Learning Outcomes:

  • To outline the key findings within the Baroness Casey Report on Group Based Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
  • To understand the similarities and differences of “Sexual Abuse”, “Sexual Exploitation” and “Group Based Harms”
  • To look at key indicators and vulnerabilities for victims of sexual harm
  • To look at key impacts of not recognising sexual abuse, sexual exploitation and group-based harms in work with children
  • To understand how multiagency partners should work collaboratively to ensure best outcomes for victims
