Please note this training is for attendees in the HIPS (Hampshire, UK) area.

Harm to children can occur in a range of extra-familial contexts, including school and other educational settings, peer groups, or within community/public spaces, and/or online. Children may experience this type of harm from other children and/or from adults. As professionals with a responsibility for safeguarding children, it is important to understand the risks of harm that children may experience in the places and spaces where they spend time (both online and offline).

This webinar is designed to provide an overview of the extra-familial harms that may be present for children. The webinar will also provide information regarding the local processes that are used in Hampshire to identify those children who are at risk and provide a multi-agency safeguarding response. Delegates attending this webinar will also gain understanding of the practical tools that are there to support professional practice in this area of safeguarding.

Learning Outcomes:

  • To consider how places and spaces impact on children's safeguarding
  • To understand the processes used within Hampshire to safeguard exploited children
  • To outline of the benefits of joint multi-agency working and Contextual work
  • To consider the benefits of ‘fit for purpose’ MET/Context tools.

Teams link and relevant course materials will be sent to registered emails prior to the training date.
