Event description
A live lit platform showcasing exceptional local talent in a cabaret style event exploring the enigmatic Welsh word Hiraeth:

About this Event

Hiraeth: the deep longing for home, real or imagined.

This is a resonant and pertinent theme right now, both domestically, globally and personally and we have tried to select stories and artists that represent a range of different perspectives.

Our line up includes writer and author Siobhan Curham who will be reading an excerpt from her novel 'Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow', award winning writer Tony Leonard with a memoir from the 80s set in a Welsh mining town, Michelle Porter with a dark little tale about enclosures featuring two kids and a fish tank, Matt Freidson with his moving tale 'At Calais' illuminating the struggles of a young refugee, writer and visual artist Alinah Azadeh whose text based sculpture explores loss and longing and writer and artist Tara Gould whose installation 8 Journeys Home will be exhibited in the ancient vestry at Westgate.

We will also have live music and a low cost bar.
