Event description

Description

Are you fascinated by historical food? Would you like to recreate the flavours of the past? Do you never find time to do it at home? Would you like to spend a few hours with others recreating tradition?

Come and join in a Christmas cooking workshop in a unique historic Regency kitchen in Hove. Down in the basement we will work with historic recipes recreating the tastes of Christmas’s past.

In this course you will work to produce your own Christmas pudding made in a traditional pudding cloth. We will partially cook it together and you’ll finish it off at home. You will also make you own candied peel. While the pudding is cooking you’ll get to taste the pudding and some mince pies. And then we will make mincemeat together. At the end of the course you’ll leave with your own traditional Christmas pudding, in a pudding cloth, and a jar of self-made Mincemeat.

Like to know what to expect?

- Visit the wonderful Rosemary and Pork Belly website review here.

- See me making the pudding for the Bald Explorer here.

Any questions just send an email to paul.g.couchman@gmail.com.

The puddings and mincemeat are vegetarian and for those of you with gluten allergies or if you are vegan I can think up alternatives, as long as you tell me on booking.

Looking forward to seeing you in the servants' basement for Christmas!
