Event description

Description

Margaret Skea is an award winning novelist and short story writer, with acclaimed novels such as 'A House Divided' and 'Turn of The Tide' to her name. Her most recent work, 'Martin Luther's Wife' is a vivid account of the life of Katharina von Bora, Luther's spouse and, many would say, co-reformer. So, if there is a sure and steady guide to lead you through the writing of a novel set in history, then Margaret is that woman! Where do you start? How do you research your characters? How far should you let yourself 'imagine'; and how hard should you stick to the facts? This workshop, under the tutelage of Margaret Skea, finalist in the Historical Novel Society Short Story 2012, shortlisted in the Mslexia Short Story Competition 2012 and long-listed for the Historical Novel Society Short Story 2014, the Matthew Pritchard Award, is sure to inspire you on the journey to bringing your historic novels and short stories to life.

PLEASE NOTE : places on this course are very limited. We recommend early booking.
