Gardens and churchyards – spring buds, summer flowers, autumn colour and fascinating history.
About this event
The City of London has around 200 open spaces or gardens. They include churchyards, bombsites, street planters, troughs, a converted coach park, window boxes and even traffic islands. There are around 1000 trees - made up of about 150 species including tulip, handkerchief, foxglove, cherry, lime and even strawberry.
Many of those who work in, or even visit, the City fail to notice just how 'green' it is. Join us on a tour of some of the gardens, see the wealth and variety of the plants and trees, hear the stories and see if you can find any street corner from where you cannot see anything 'green'.
Our walks take place in all weathers so come prepared - sunscreen or umbrella!
Our Guides have all been accredited by the Institute of Tourist Guiding (ITG) and follow its Covid-19 Guidance guidelines for Tour Guiding.
