St Bartholomew's Hospital was founded in 1123 by the monk Rahere and granted to the City of London by King Henry VIII.
Meeting at the Henry VIII gate outside St Bartholomew's Hospital, the walk visits St Bartholomew's the Less, an amazing range of architecture ancient and modern, the stories of body snatchers, heroic and pioneering medics and nurses. We will have access to visit the newly conserved North Wing with its splendid Great Hall and its spectacular paintings by William Hogarth.
The walks take place monthly on a Wednesday at 1.30pm.
Places are limited and must be booked in advance.
Tours cost £12 per adult, £10 concessions (senior citizens 65+ years and NHS workers) plus booking fees. Accompanied children under 12 are free. (Please note: children must be accompanied by an adult). If you have a support dog who assists you they are welcome to come, but unfortunately we cannot accommodate any non support animals.
