Come learn about different crafts in history! Each month, we will pick a period in history (chosen by members) and look into a chosen technique, craft or creative pursuit from that time. Then we gather, share and have a crafting hour. This can be anything from embroidery to dressmaking to painting.
Perhaps you're interested in beading, you might like to explore late 17th-century glass beads, and inspire a sewist to design a mantua, finding inspiration in a place they wouldn’t have explored. Or you could be a history buff with an interest in the early Viking period and would like to see recreations of tunics and tapestries.
The club is welcome to all, it’s directed at all levels, and all types of crafters. It’s a space to meet people, learn and create!
Next session we will be looking at the 1630s!
For anyone curious about learning to knit, I'll be running a basics knitting circle. I'll bring along some knitting needles and wool, but please bring along any resources if you already have them :)
Please bring any crafts you'd like to do (it doesn't need to be time-specific!)
