Come join our FREE (you can make a donation if you wish to) lesbian march and rally to show the world we are here, we are not queer and we will not be erased.

Lesbian Strength was formed by a group of lesbian feminists in 2019. Lesbians have long been marginalised within the ‘LGBT community’ but there has been increasing hostility towards lesbians, lesbian identity and the fundamental idea that lesbians are women who are exclusively same-sex attracted.

We believe that separate organising is the only way to build a strong, supportive community for lesbians.

Our aims as a group are:

• To oppose lesbian erasure
• To amplify the voices of lesbians
• To build community amongst lesbians

We organised our first event in Leeds in 2019. Lesbian Strength marches were held in the UK, the first in 1981 and then throughout the 1980s. They were women-only events and it was important to us to build on this herstory and restart this tradition. Leeds is a city with a proud feminist tradition, the first Reclaim the Night march was held in Leeds in 1977 and it is strongly associated with Revolutionary Feminism.

Join us at 1pm on Saturday 13th September 2025 in the centre of Leeds, West Yorkshire. The exact location in the centre of the city will be revealed 24 hours before the march to people registered to attend.

As a collective of volunteers we fundraise through selling our merchandise on our website, to visit our shop click here, whilst also accepting one-off and monthly donations, combined with our lesbian strength crowdfunder.

This year, we are also introducing lesbian solidarity donations to help fund the travel of lesbians who would dearly love to march with us, but need some help with the cost of the journey to Leeds. If you can make an extra donation to help a lesbian sister out, please do so via the methods links above.

#WeStandWithLesbians

This year for the 2025 Lesbian Strength march and rally we are adding a #WeStandWithLesbians banner to the rear of the march which supporters of lesbians are welcome to march behind to show their support and amplify our presence and voices as we fight against the erosion of our rights. Come and join us to make some noise for your lesbian sisters.

We would also very much welcome Hetrosexual and Bi women to support us by stewarding the march with us, freeing up some of our lesbian stewards to take part in the march at the front.
