Historical Walking Tour - St Peter's parish
Event Information
About this Event
We are thrilled to have our first Forest Explorer walk led by local history expert Joanna Moncrieff. This is an excellent opportunity to explore your local area and get a good dose of fresh air and exercise at the same time! The walk will last roughly an hour-and-a-half, with one beginning at 13:00 and another at 15:00.
This specially commissioned walk will take in areas in the south of our parish, starting and finishing at St Peter's church. Joanna is conducting research to make this a one-of-a kind event, giving extra local knowledge that will enthuse those who have lived in the area for a long time themselves or give fascinating detail to people newly arrived.
Booking is essential so we can ensure group sizes are in line with covid regulation, and please do stick to your chosen timeslot. If you can no longer make it, please do let us know so that we can reallocate your ticket. Groups of 12 will be split into two 'subgroups' of six on each walk, but in general please be mindful of social distancing between participants. Our guide, Joanna, will be wearing a facemask on the tour, and we ask that you please do likewise.
The cafe will be open before and between walks, so do stick around or come early for some lovely grub cooked on site by our magnificent volunteers. A hot bowl of soup may well be called for on a fresh January afternoon!
Parking is extremely limited at our nearby community centre, so if you have any mobility needs that will necessitate a space, please do get in touch with community_engagement@stpeterintheforest.org to arrange. Otherwise, local parking may be available in the CPZs on Upper Walthamstow Road, Greenway Avenue, and Bisterne Terrace.
