Event description

Description

History Lab Plus is pleased to announce the launch of its Public History Workshop.

The growth of ‘public history’ provides a variety of collaborative opportunities for all of those involved in shaping historical understanding. For academic historians, it provides an opportunity for public engagement and new perspectives. For museum and heritage professionals, it provides a way to access new research and to draw links between collections. For community groups, it can provide access to new audiences and funding. But how do you actually do public history? And where can you find public historians?

This workshop will provide a hands-on introduction to public history. It will feature training sessions on articulating public history, building a profile, and using material sources. It will also feature a range of case studies that demonstrate successful collaboration between academics, museums and heritage professionals and community groups.

The workshop has been organised by History Lab Plus in collaboration with Leeds Museums and Galleries and Leeds Beckett University. It is particularly suitable for those at an early-career stage.

To register on the workshop please book a ticket.
