Event Details

Our next History of Astronomy Group talk for this season will take place on Tuesday 19th March 2019, starting at 7:00pm sharp, in the Foyer of the Peter Harrison Planetarium at the Royal Observatory Greenwich.

Tony Sizer, will be giving a talk entitled, ‘Through a Glass Clearly’ where he will take us through the history of the refracting telescope from 1608 until 1900. Tony is a former teacher of Chemistry, Science and Astronomy at Warwick School and Chigwell School and is currently one of the Astronomers at the Royal Observatory.

The talk is free to Flamsteed members. If you plan to come along it would help us if you registered for the talk so we know how many people to expect (and seats to provide!).
