Event Details

Come back to history class for the evening with the teacher you wish you’d had – leading Guardian journalist and author Simon Jenkins.

Do you wish you’d paid more attention in history class? Let award-winning journalist and author Simon Jenkins reinvigorate your interest in the fascinating subject of English history.

During the evening, you’ll learn about the chief events and themes that have made England what it is today – from the signing of the Magna Carta to the creation of the welfare state. You’ll also deepen your understanding of key battles – from the Norman conquest to the Battle of Waterloo – and how they informed the evolution of British politics.

This course is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the narrative “sweep” of English history. You’ll leave with a firm grasp of England’s story from beginning to end, enabling you to understand how the different events and personalities fit together. Don’t miss out on the phenomenal chance to learn from Simon’s extensive knowledge and passion – book your place now and reawaken your curiosity about one of Europe’s most remarkable countries.
