Event description

Description

What would you wear to war? Join award-winning author Lucy Adlington to explore the stirring stories behind her new history book Women's Lives and Clothes in World War Two - a unique insight into the experiences of women worldwide in the 1940s.

As housewives, fighters, fashion designers or spies, women dressed the part when they took up their wartime roles. The history of ten tumultuous years is reflected in this global collection of clothes, accessories and uniforms.

This event is perfect for anyone interested in the period, or looking to contextualise their family history research. There will also be an opportunity to bring your own artefacts and memories, and an accompanying exhibition. Definitely something not to be missed!
