On Wednesday 15 December 2021 Hit The Road proudly presents: Shorthouse plus support from Leiah Maitland and Sean Bonner at The Mash House, Edinburgh

Hit The Road has acted as an early stepping-stone in the careers of Scotland’s emerging musicians and songwriters including Lewis Capaldi, Be Charlotte, klo, Parliamo, RILEY, Deni Smith, Zoë Bestel, Velvet, Keir Gibson, Angry Man Car Park. Hit The Road provides early-stage musicians age 14-19 the opportunity to learn about the live industry before embarking on a professionally managed tour.

Initiated and run by Scottish Music Centre and funded by Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative (YMI) and PRS Foundation.

NOTE: All Hit The Road gigs are OPEN to anyone 14 years and over

SHORTHOUSE is the musical alias of Edinburgh-based, Dunfermline-born singer songwriter Rob McLaughlin. The young artist blends indie, folk, and rock genres and is set to release his next single Lived on 26 November. McLaughlin often performs live with a full band and has a songwriting partnership with Colin Graham.

Hit The Road provides early-stage musicians age 14-19 the opportunity to learn about the live industry before embarking on a professionally managed tour.

Hit The Road aims to equip young artists with the knowledge, contacts and tools required to build a career within the live industry and is funded by Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative (YMI) and PRS for Music Foundation, managed by Scottish Music Centre.
