On Friday 17 December 2021 Hit The Road proudly presents: Leiah Maitland plus support from Sean Bonner and Shorthouse at The Tolbooth, Stirling

LEIAH MAITLAND is an 18-year-old singer songwriter from Creiff who began learning to play the piano and sing at just 7 years old. She’s attended Edinburgh School of Music and developed her craft performing in musical theatre shows, including productions at Edinburgh International Conference Centre and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Maitland is currently completing an HND in Music Performance at Motherwell College and is busy working on her debut EP, set for release early next year.

Hit The Road has acted as an early stepping-stone in the careers of Scotland’s emerging musicians and songwriters including Lewis Capaldi, Be Charlotte, klo, Parliamo, RILEY, Deni Smith, Zoë Bestel, Velvet, Keir Gibson, Angry Man Car Park. Hit The Road provides early-stage musicians age 14-19 the opportunity to learn about the live industry before embarking on a professionally managed tour.

Initiated and run by Scottish Music Centre and funded by Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative (YMI) and PRS Foundation.

NOTE: All Hit The Road gigs are OPEN to anyone 14 years and over

Organiser of Hit The Road STIRLING, Leiah Maitland, Shorthouse, Sean Bonner

Hit The Road provides early-stage musicians age 14-19 the opportunity to learn about the live industry before embarking on a professionally managed tour.

Hit The Road aims to equip young artists with the knowledge, contacts and tools required to build a career within the live industry and is funded by Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative (YMI) and PRS for Music Foundation, managed by Scottish Music Centre.
