HIV Awareness Training
One person every day is diagnosed with HIV in Scotland. This course will help you learn how to prevent HIV transmissions, support people living with or at risk to HIV, and increase your confidence in speaking to others about the issues.
Specifically, this course will help you to learn about:
- How HIV is transmitted.
- What can be done to prevent transmission.
- HIV prevalence in Scotland, the UK and internationally.
- Stigma, discrimination and myths about HIV.
- The latest development in HIV treatment and management.
Who for the course is for
This course is designed for anyone new to learning about HIV but also provides up-to-date information for those seeking a refresher. It is applicable to people already working in the sector, as well as anyone who wants to understand more about the issues. This course may be particularly pertinent for people working with at-risk or vulnerable populations.
Participants will recieve a certificate of attendance upon completion. Light refreshments will be available, however lunch is not provided.
Prices for the workshops are as follows (all prices include VAT):
Standard price: £72
Students and people in receipt of means-tested benefits: £30
The price for this one-day course is £72 per person; £60 for registered charity workers and £30 for students and people in receipt of means tested benefits.
