This session covers key topics such as HIV transmission, prevention, testing, treatment, and stigma reduction. Designed for community members, professionals, and anyone interested in learning more, the training offers practical tools and up-to-date information to support people living with or impacted by HIV.

You will gain the confidence to have informed conversations, promote safe practices, and encourage compassion within your community. Whether you're new to the topic or seeking a refresher, this training is a valuable opportunity to grow your knowledge and impact. Participants will receive a certificate of completion.

This session will also explore the current state of HIV in Barnet and provide practical strategies to reduce stigma and promote better health outcomes.

Training aims:

To empower professionals with the knowledge and skills to:

  • Champion awareness about HIV
  • Challenge myths and harmful attitudes
  • Signpost clients to relevant sexual health services

Learning objectives:

  • Define HIV and explain how it affects the body
  • Understand how HIV is transmitted and how to prevent transmission
  • Describe available treatments for people living with HIV
  • Challenge myths and reduce harmful attitudes
  • Signpost individuals to local sexual health services

This training is open to those working in Thurrock ONLY.

This training course is FREE to professionals working with young people in Thurrock.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

If you are unable to attend, please let us know 48 hrs before the training date so we will be able to offer your place to those on the waiting list.

This training session will be an online event via Zoom. Attendees will receive a Zoom link 48hours before the training session. If your organisation does not enable the use of Zoom, personal devices can also be used. Due to the topics we will be discussing, participants may want to use headphones.
