About this event

In partnership with Bridgy Gallery and with funding from the Animating Bridgwater Grant, Sami Green is expanding her Hive project into a major group exhibition. Scheduled for mid-September to mid-October 2025, this new iteration features work from over 20 artists across Somerset exploring ecological and landscape themes. Swarm will return, an installation of over 80 textile bumblebees made in community workshops. The exhibition hosts a new series of craft workshops, allowing new participants to add their own bees to the growing artwork. Bridgy Gallery is also hosting children’s workshops using recycled materials — a playful way to engage young minds with sustainability and creativity.

At its heart, Hive is about connection — to the natural world, to each other, and to the creative spirit that lives in all of us. It’s about seeing what we can make, together.

Bridgy Gallery is a welcoming, grassroots community art space that champions creativity for all. We believe art should be accessible, joyful, and rooted in the people who make it — that’s why we’re proud to exhibit art for the people, by the people. Our gallery is open to everyone, whether you’re a first-time visitor, a curious beginner, or an established local artist.

We also have a beautiful outdoor garden space — a little creative oasis where visitors can relax, chat, and be inspired, surrounded by nature. Stop and get refreshments and soak up the atmosphere.
