Event description

Description

The HLP CYP Programme is holding an event on the Wednesday 5th July (8.30 for 9am, finishing at 17.00) to pull together expertise and insight to strengthen the care of Children and Young People (CYP) in Urgent and Emergency Care.

Urgent and Emergency Care continues to be one of the main focuses both nationally and locally. The Five Year forward view delivery plan mentions the importance of creating flow in Urgent and Emergency care. The event aims to highlight why care for CYP needs to be different and to raise the profile of Urgent and Emergency Care needs of Children and Young People in Urgent and Emergency Care with the aim of developing urgent and emergency care pathways for children and young people.

The agenda for the day is being finalised. Themes will include:

  • Data on ED attendances and use of urgent and emergency care
  • Areas of best practice
  • Innovative ways of managing flow and streaming in CYP
  • Workshops on specific health areas: e.g. student health

Representatives of all London CCGs are warmly invited, and we would welcome paediatricians and other frontline staff in urgent and emergency medicine, representatives from London Ambulance service, GPs, CYP commissioners and commissioners for Integrated and urgent care. Please cascade out to your community teams, who may be interested in this event.

A detailed programme for the day including details of the agenda and central London venue will follow shortly, along with joining instructions.
