Workshop for National Level Coalitions and networks working on SDGs

The High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2021 will take place from 6 July- 15 July 2021 in a virtual format. This year’s theme will be "Sustainable and resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic that promotes the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development: building an inclusive and effective path for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda in the context of the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development". Many of the SDGs are once again under review.

Several European countries will present their recent SDG implementation in Voluntary National Reviews (VNR): Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Norway, San Marino, Spain, Sweden. So far, the process has varied a lot from country to country with some governments and CSOs intensively engaged and others yet to release any messages for their report.

In this webinar, we want to discuss the way in which this year’s European VNR countries are preparing for their reporting at the UN, how civil society is involved and what is needed to push governments to make the VNRs as politically honest and impactful as possible. We will furthermore discuss CSO activities currently planned around this year’s HLPF theme, and share different opportunities for civil society, also from non-VNR countries, to get involved at the HLPF.
