HMCTS reform event: crime

HMCTS is continuing to engage with practising legal professionals and professional court users about our £1bn courts and tribunals reform programme. We are hosting a series of face-to-face and online events, organised by jurisdiction and topic.

You're invited to join our face-to-face event showcasing the crime area of the reform programme, which is also open to representatives of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and the police.

Crime reform: Thursday 24 January 2019, 5.30pm to 7.00pm

The event will include an overview of the latest crime reform developments, including live demonstrations. You'll find out how the reforms will:

  • support digital working throughout the criminal courts
  • enable participants in the criminal justice system to work from the same information to reduce duplication of effort
  • introduce more consistent working practices.

You'll have the opportunity to learn more and ask questions about the progress and ambitions of the reform programme. Doors will open from 5.00pm and refreshments will be provided.

At this point we are inviting expressions of interest in attending the event in person. Please note that expressing interest in attending in person does not guarantee your place. Spaces are limited and will be prioritised for practising legal professionals and professional court users. If successful, you will be notified by e-mail and provided with a ticket.

Register your interest in attending in person by clicking the register button.

Elements of the event will be recorded for publishing on GOV.UK afterwards, alongside presentations delivered to attendees. If you would like to submit questions beforehand, please e-mail us and include your name, area of practice and organisation. We’ll respond afterwards to any questions not answered during the event.

You can also find the latest information and updates on the HMCTS reform programme web page.

Please note that there will be filming and photography at the event. Images and recordings may be used by HMCTS or our partners to promote future events. We will also keep your contact details on file until the end of the HMCTS reform programme in 2022 to inform you about other similar events. If you do not consent to us using your image, recording or contact details, or if you have any queries about this, please e-mail us , If you want to be removed from our database, you can send a request to us.
