HMCTS reform event: modernising the tribunal processes for appealing government decisions

HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) wants to tell professional users of our services about our reform programme.

This event aims to give people more information and understanding about our work and give them a chance to provide feedback on our work to modernise processes in benefits and immigration appeals and in employment and other tribunals.

The event will go into detail on work so far in:

* immigration and asylum appeals

* social security and child support (SSCS) appeals.

It will also look at planned changes in other tribunals.

In SSCS, the event will focus on Employment Support Allowance and Personal Independence Payment appeals.

Both projects are bringing digital processes to tribunals – aiming to make the processes simpler and more user friendly for all involved.

The session is aimed at legal professionals involved in these cases, although it will also be of interest to people working in local authorities, the health service and third-sector organisations, if they work with those appealing a decision made by the government.

You’ll hear more about the projects, see live demonstrations of the digital application processes and have an opportunity to ask questions.

Register your interest in attending in person via the register button.

Please note that expressing interest in attending does not guarantee your place. Spaces are limited and priority is for those whose work on appeals in the areas of immigration and asylum and SSCS. If successful, you will be notified by e-mail and given a ticket. If you would like to submit questions before the event, please e-mail us. Include your name, area of work or practice and organisation with your question. We’ll respond afterwards to any questions not answered during the event.

You can also find the latest information and updates on the HMCTS reform programme web page.

Please note the event may be recorded and photographed. Images and recordings may be published and used by HMCTS or our partners to promote future events. We will also keep your contact details on file until the end of the HMCTS reform programme in 2022 to inform you about other similar events.

If you do not consent to us using your image, recording or contact details, or if you have any queries about this, please e-mail us. If you want to be removed from our database, you can send us a request.
